“The Howdy Doody” television show first aired in 1947. Howdy was a marionette and he and Buffalo Bob Smith were the stars of the show. Howdy Doody had red hair and 48 freckles.

Danny O’Day was the creation of Jimmy Nelson. On Saturday mornings in the 50 and 60s children would see commercials of Jimmy, Danny, and Farfel the dog singing about NestlĂ© chocolate.
